FDI closing positions

Foreign direct investments data are published in time series, and in a breakdown by instrument, country and activity. For foreign direct investments in Hungary the economic activity breakdown is based on the activity of the Hungarian direct investment enterprise, while in the case of foreign direct investments abroad it is based on the activity of the foreign investment entities. The equity is valued at market value in the case of listed companies. For non-listed companies the basis of the valuation is the equity stated in the balance sheet of the non-resident direct investment enter-prise for outward investments, and own funds at book value (OFBV) for direct investments in Hungary. Assets and liabilities of debt instruments mostly contain loans, not only granted by the owner, but also intercompany loans within the enterprisegroup, furthermore debt securities, cashpools and trade credits within the enterprisegroup.
