I. Financial institutions
Publications based on the data supplied under the supervisory data supply in accordance with the prevailing MNB Decree on
the reporting obligations of money and credit market institutions to the central bank information system with the primary
view of performing the MNB’s supervisory tasks and the EU laws applicable to the supervisory reporting of the same organisations.
Money and credit market organisations include credit institutions, financial enterprises and independent intermediaries within
the meaning of the Credit Institutions Act.
Credit institutions include banking groups with registered office in Hungary, individual credit institutions, Hungarian branch
offices of credit institutions registered abroad and financial enterprises qualifying as credit institutions in prudential
terms. The publications include banking groups subject to consolidated supervision, the members of which fall within prudential
consolidation. The consolidated data always apply to the scope of prudential consolidation. The scope of prudential consolidation
includes the resident and non-resident institutions controlled by the parent bank. The controlling member of the domestic
banking group may be owned by the foreign parent bank. When a bank is not the controlling bank of a banking group, it is treated
as an individual bank.
